My Name is Jason Ng, born in 1962. I was trained at the prestigious China Conservatory of Music, a leading institution in Beijing. I graduated with a First Class Honour in Traditional Chinese Music, specialising in the strings instrument. I also learned the piano from a noted pianist in China including the fine art of piano tuning.
Upon graduating, I was offered a place in the Xing´an Music Ensemble where I have been ever since. I am now a principal Pipa player and a mentor to other new musicians.
I am also a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technicians Guild, one of a few rare breed in Singapore.
Milestone
- 1980 - Graduated from China Conservatory of Music
- 1980 - Joined the Xing´an Music Ensemble
- 1984 - Promoted to Senior Pipa player.
- 1992 - Accepted as a visiting Fellow at China Conservatory of Music
- 1996 - Registered with the Piano Technicians Guild.
